Where did Miklosic’s name come from?
Rooms Miklošičeva are located in a corner historic building from the 1920s on Miklošičeva cesta in the center of Ljubljana.
In 1898, one of the three new streets or roads next to the Court Palace was named after the Slovene philologist, Slavic scholar and linguist Franc Miklošič.
Miklošičeva cesta has been connecting Ljubljana’s main railway station and the city’s main square, Prešeren Square, for more than 150 years. In the lower part you will be able to admire the beautiful Art Nouveau buildings next to it, and in the upper part the imposing architecture from the period between the two world wars, as well as the architecture of one of the most famous Slovenian architects, Jože Plečnik.
